The blustery remains of hurricane Cleo swept northward 8/29 dumping heavy rains on coastal Georgia and threatening the Carolinas with tornadoes. A late (4PM EST) advisory placed the center of the storm northwest of here. Forecasters said that it was gradually losing strength and that its center was poorly defined.
