Nix was identified by the committee as an officer of the Spartanburg, S.C., klavern known as the Spartanburg Sportsmen's Club, and son-in-law of Grand Dragon Don Cothran of Florida. Nix sought refuge in the Fifth Amendment in refusing to answer committee questions.
