Necklace Used To Prevent Baby Mixups. New York – One of the modern devices now used in hospitals to prevent mixups of new born babies is a string of beads which are placed around the child’s neck at birth. The beads are lettered and spell out the name of the baby’s mother. A metal seal prevents removal of the necklace as long as the baby remains in the hospital. This picture made in French Hospital here shows a nurse attaching such a necklace to a new arrival.

Chief Lollypop Taster for a Chicago candy factory is Barbara Schulz, 5, who has the kind of job other kiddies only dream about. She's paid 365 lollypops a year for tasting new candies and giving her opinion of whether children will like them. Barbara is shown here with officials of the company.
