"Atta Boy, Daddy". Charley Ruffing had this welcome from his wife and junior when he came home from the Yankee Stadium Oct. 7 with an 8-1 victory over the Giants under his belt. Pitcher Ruffing held the Giants to seven hits in this second World Series game, got two hits himself to drive in three runs and fanned eight batsmen. He managed to slip out and buy junior a souvenir bat though.
