Atomic Furnace -- A 165 - ton steel nuclear reactor vessel which will become the "furnace" for New England's first atomic electric power plant was shipped today from the Babcock & Wilcox Co. Boiler Division Works in Barberton. The vessel, 27 feet long and 13 feet across is en route to Yankee Atomic Electric Co. site at Rowe, Mass. B&W designed the unit under contract to Westing house Electric Corp. which designed the nuclear reactor plant.
