Betsy Pounds Nassau -- Hurricane Betsy, located by cross, today pounded Nassau and the northern Bahamas with 140-mile per hour winds and towering waves. Shaded is the heavily populated south Florida area where the wallowing storm presents a threat and where residents were urged to complete final preparations against the hurricane.
