A girl who gave her name as Bernice Brotherton, 15, taken into custody by juvenile authorities in a hot dog stand, was held after she had told them she had run away from her home at Patterson, Calif. She said she had run away because she was forced into marriage at the age of 14. She said that after running away she joined a carnival as part of a knife-throwing act. During the past five weeks, the girl said, she has lived at the Sunshine Mission.
