America's First Diesel Life Boat. Here is the first of the new power life boats, just launched at a Newark, N.J. shipyard, now required by the United States Maritime Commission on certain of its new passenger and cargo ships. It is powered by a one-cylinder two-cycle Gray Marine General Motors Diesel engine, and in case of disaster will pick up other life boats and take them in tow.
