At least 500 military police and the Army's new V100 riot control vehicle (left) were camped at the city limits 5/1 for possible use 5/3 when antiwar demonstrators try to disrupt the government. The V100 is a huge armored vehicle with a turret and rubber tires which the Army has described as capable of running over a car.

Dykes Fired by Indians--Jimmy Dykes, right, fired from his job as manager of the Cleveland Indians, poses with coaches Mel Harder, left, and Mel McGaha in Los Angeles today, just before the start of the final game of the season, this one against the Los Angeles Angels. General Manager Gabe Paul, who announced the firing, said Dykes' successor will be named in Cleveland tomorrow. Harder managed the team in today's season finale. McGaha, 35, is the man most persistently rumored to be in line for the managerial post.

Fisherwomen, Winter Style - A real fisherman won't forsake the sport just because 10-below weather is made worse by 40-mile winds. Participants in contest on Lake Minnetonka at Wayzata, Minn., are Mrs. Frances Johnson, 62-year-old grandmother, holding ice fishing rod, and her sister, Mrs. Marie Long, 58, ladling ice from the hole. Both live in St. Paul.
