All-Weather Laboratory. Brooklyn, N.Y.-- On the other side of that small window, which is made of six layers of glass, is the Sperry Gyroscope Company's all weather laboratory in which it tests equipment under all kinds of weather conditions. In the picture above a Sperry metallurgist watches the test operations. Men in the laboratory can communicate with him by signaling through the window and talking through a two-way speaking device. Because the laboratory, made of stainless steel, contracts and expands with the chances in temperature, it was suspended from the ceiling.
