A composition of six female figures. The pale one in the middle one, faces forward and is dressed in light draperies. She rises on her tiptoes and flies a white veil over her head. Four of her companions take part in the dance. On the left and in the background is one seen from behind. Another, in the foreground, is seen in profile and follows the flow of the round. On the right, in the foreground, is another who is bare to her hips and she raises a thyrsi. There is another in the background with a bare chest, and her arms are outstretched, and overturn while she dances. On the same side, the sixth figure sits on the ground and rests while watching. The scene takes place in the Gardens of Dido. There are tall, dark trees seen on the right and part of round temple. It takes place during twilight, after the storm. (Berlioz, the Trojans, act II)
