High school English teacher, Donald R. Brown, 44, (above), had his seven week long romance with his 18-year-old student, Verna Jean Parrill, (above) shattered by unromantic police, when they were discovered living as man and wife in Ithaca, N.Y. Brown, married and the father of four children, and Verna Jean, the daughter of a prominent family, had both been missing from their homes in Elwood, ind. since early in April. It may be love to Brown, but as he languishes behind bars, the F.B.I. insists that it is a violation of the Mann act.
