Baby Born By Caesarean Section to Iron Lung Polio Victim-- Mrs. Lucille Hughes, 38, Elmore, Minn., smiles from here iron lung in the Elizabeth Kenny Institute today shortly after a five-pound girl (in incubator, right) was delivered by Caesarean section. Mrs. Hughes was stricken Sept. 4 with spinal bulbar polio and was hospitalized here through the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis. Her husband, James, is shown in both picture. The nurse at left is Effie Schmidt. The nurse at right is Madeline Logghe, superintendent of the premature nursery at St. Mary's hospital, where the child was transferred.
