An Affair of Honor for Two Argentinians--Admiral Benigno Varela, right, duels with Yolivan Biglieri today in a suburban field near Buenos Aires in Argentina's first reported duel in many years. Benigno, a retired officer and former Argentine navy commander-in-chief, challenged Biglieri, a newspaper editor, after the latter declared editorially that "another traitor is gone" when Varela retired recently. The seconds of both men called a halt after Varela and Biglieri had picked each other.
