Quake-Wrecked Greek Homes-- Only scattered walls rise above the wreckage of homes in Samis, on the quake-ravaged Greek island of Kefallinia, after five days of earthquakes which have left hundreds of dead on three Ionian Sea islands. Scenes of similar destruction cover the neighboring isles of Ithaca and Zakinthos today as rescuers seek additional dead beyond the estimated 1,000 victims. Almost all of the island's 120,000 survivors are homeless.
