Anything for a Friend - Pittsburgh Pirate mound ace Bob Friend, scheduled starter against Brooklyn Dodgers tonight, gives his right arm all the rest it can get as he lets pitching teammate Vernon Law shave him as they rest up in hotel room for opener of crucial three-game series. Law may see some duty on the mound in the series which could mean the pennant for the Dodgers, who trail the league-leading Milwaukee Braves by one full game. Friend has a 17-16 record this year.
