A 40-year-old woman from Lawrence, Mass. is placed in an ambulance early 4/7 after arriving in Houston by jet. The woman who's heart was kept alive after she was pronounced dead was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital where her heart was transplanted into the chest of Haskell Karp by surgeon Dr. Denton Cooley. Karp has been living with a mechanical heart since 4/4.
