William T. Roach, a 15-year-old orphan was held on a murder charge today after he had confessed at his arraignment that only a few hours previously he had shot Carolyn Bennett (closeup above) to death because he was jealous. The court ordered a plea of innocent entered for the boy because Massachusetts law bars acceptance of a minor's plea of guilty to a murder charge. A recommendation that the boy undergo a psychiatric examination was taken under advisement.
