The 33.19-carat emerald-cut Krupp diamond glitters and Frank Pollak smiles after his family's firm bought the stone for $305,000 at an auction at the Parke-Bernet Galleries here 5/16. The stone is known as the Krupp diamond because famous German steel magnate Alfred Krupp bought it for his second wife, Vera. It was sent for sale by the executors of the late Vera Krupp. It was reported that Frank Pollak & Sons, New York diamond dealers, bought the diamond, said to be one of the most perfect stones in the world, for actress Elizabeth Taylor.
