Gavarni, Paul, 1804-1866 · September 11, 1837
In a nightclub, a water-bearer, with his hat on his ear, sits in profile on the right on a bench in front of a table on which he writes, and where a bottle, a glass and a pipe are placed. In the bottom left of the people drinking, on the wall on the right of the drawings and inscriptions by hand, on a small sign we read directly: "On ne fu(me) - pas issi."
