Gavarni, Paul, 1804-1866 · December 12, 1846
On the left, a man disguised as a doorkeeper, a cap knotted under the chin, a false nose, a hand in the pocket of his apron, an earthen warmer on his arm. He accosted a young woman in a longshoreman, round hat surrounded by ribbons on the ear, low-cut jacket, both hands in the pockets of her trousers. They are both turned right.
