Scottish mountaineer, national costume, playing bagpipes in a paddock; he is in front, leaning on a barrel full of hops. Several characters are grouped around him: on the left three young girls and a little boy who suspended their games to listen to him; on the right, a bald man sitting, and in front of him two young men, one squatting, the other lying on the ground. A low fence shows at the bottom a mountainous site and a cloudy sky.
