A young lady alone in the country, surprised by two bad men. One in profile to the right, hat above a cotton bonnet, holding the young lady by the dress in one hand and threatens to strike with the other. Frightened, she drops the book she was reading and crosses her arms on her chest. In the left background the other bad man, seen from the back, holding the lady's umbrella, stands guard.
