This mourning picture worked in silk satin stitches on a satin ground depicts two women in white dresses flanking an inscribed monument surmounted by an urn. One places flowers on the monument while the other points to the inscription and holds a large anchor (symbol of hope, faith and love). There are houses at the extreme left and a weeping willow at the center. The picture is under a reverse painted (eglomise) glass and in a gilt frame.
