“Docks at Bordeaux where Y.M.C.A. Supplies Where Landed.” This illustration depicts the docks at Bordeaux. Bordeaux is a port city on the Garonne River in the Gironde department in southwestern France. In the right foreground, a man leans against a wall, speaking to a woman carrying a bundle of flowers. In the left foreground, a woman sells flowers, and three men lean against a wall, surveying the beach and docks. Along the beach, horses pull wagons and people are at work. Docked are a handful of smaller vessels, and behind them is a large steamboat.
