Whistler, James McNeill, 1834-1903 · [1858]
A dilapidated farm-house with its outbuildings, all of half-timbered construction. In front, a young girl stands outside a door which is partly opened, disclosing the face of another girl. Near a kennel at the left lies a dog. At the right is the gable end of another building, against which hay-racks are placed on which cloths are hung.
