A bridge with an iron railing spans a wide canal in which are two supporting piers. Beyond, at the left, is a row of houses with sloping roofs, and at the right is a large warehouse. In the distance, gabled houses and a tall frame for telegraph wires are seen. Several people are on the bridge. There are extensive reflections in the canal. There is no butterfly.
