Here and Now, UW tuition increases, Board of Regents will consider a new tuition plan proposed by UW-Madison Chancellor Carolyn 'Biddy' Martin called the 'Madison Initiative for Undergraduates'. It comes with a $1, 000 increase over 4 years of tuition per-in-state student. Poor students would not pay the increased rate. Income to the university would be used to offset high costs to poor students as well as to hire new faculty.
