Copy of Benjamin Yen's transcript

This is a copy of Benjamin Yen‘s (Yen Chia-lin; 严家麟) transcript. It can be seen that Yen is from Wuchang, China. The transcript shows that Yen graduated from Boone University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Divinity. The title of his thesis is "Work with boys in the U.S." It seems that he transferred twelve credit hours from Boone University when he enrolled in Springfield College (then known as International YMCA College) in 1925, when the original transcript was likely created. Benjamin Yen (Yen Chia-lin; 严家麟) is a member of Class 1926. He was the founder of Boy Scouts in China. Following the birth of the Republic of China, Yen organized the first Scout troop in Wuchang, Hubei, China on February 25, 1912 and the Scouting movement spread rapidly all over the country. He studied at Boone Seminary and became an ordained minister in 1916. After graduated from Springfield College, he returned to China and served as the headmaster for Boone College, an American-style preparatory high school affiliated with Yale University. He later traveled to New York and Washington, D.C. for the 1935 Boy Scout Jamboree.
