An engraved portrait of Stephen Decatur on the spar deck of a naval vessel, standing next to the capstan and carronades, and holding a telescope. Decatur's signature is printed below the portrait. Engraved by G.R. Hall after a painting by Alonzo Chappel. Published by Johnson, Fry & Co., New York. The page was removed from the book, "Battles of the United States By Sea and Land," by Henry B. Dawson, 1856.
