Vincent "Vin" Catania worked as a photographer for more than four decades for international wire services, newspapers, magazines, and corporate and non-profit clients. His work has appeared in publications worldwide, including <em>The New York Times</em>, <em>The Washington Post</em>, <em>Le Monde</em>, <em>Times Magazine</em>, <em>Sports Illustrated</em>, and more.<br><br>After graduating from the Massachusetts College of Art, Catania began his career at a small Boston-area newspaper in the 1970s. He would move on to covering stories throughout New England for United Press International (UPI) and was subsequently hired to set up Boston operations for Agence-France Presse.<br><br>Catania later became active as a commercial photographer with clients in the pharmaceutical, food, energy, and high-tech areas, as well as for hospitals, colleges, and non-profit groups.<br><br>Critical funding to support long-term preservation of and enhanced public access to Boston Public Library collections, including this one, was provided by the <a href="https://www.associatesbpl.org/" target="_blank">Associates of the Boston Public Library</a>.
