Fire Island State Park is one of the State Parks under the jurisdiction of the Long Island State Park Commission. This park is 39 miles from New York City and is only accessible by ferry. Ferry service is operated from Babylon and Bay Shore. There is a protected surf bathing beach with bathhouse facilities, boardwalks, play areas and refreshment stands. Campsites are available. Campers must bring their own tents and equipment.
