A sketch showing the east wall of the Sargent Gallery on the third floor of the McKim Building at the Central Library in Copley Square. On the upper portion of this study are three lunettes, installed in 1916. At lower left and right are renderings of Sargent's framed "Synagogue" (left) and "Church" (right), installed in 1919. This sketch includes a preliminary study for "Sermon on the Mount" at lower center; Sargent never completed this panel -- intended to be the last in his library mural cycle -- before his death in 1925.
