[ca. 1970]
Beginning in 1970, La Alianza Hispana has offered programs to Latino youths. Youth services have since grown in three areas: children's services, counseling and advocacy, and education. In 1978, the Youth Development Unit of La Alianza Hispana was established and expanded services to include: summer camp; summer youth recreational programs; substance abuse intervention and prevention; adolescent counseling; support groups for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender youth; cultural arts programs; recreational activities; after school and tutoring programs; General Equivalency Diploma test preparation; English as a second language courses; and vocational and educational counseling. The youth on the right is gesturing with one hand. In the background, there appears to be playground equipment or bleachers for spectators.
