He writes, "A better state of things cannot be anticipated until the British people are made familiar with the circumstances, conditions & true value of India, until they regard India as an integral portion of the British dominion, & the people of India as sujects of her Majesty, with...claim upon the consideration, sympathy and exertion of those who have the power of influencing the arts of the rulers of this Empire."
