The Senator discusses the projected loss of jobs at Kirkland Air Force Base, New Mexico’s involvement in the Nuclear Weapons Program, the bombing in Oklahoma City, federal budget deficits, education spending, research and development, tax cuts, job creation, the expansion and inefficiency of government, the government’s role in helping to achieve a better country for its citizens, eliminating government corruption, and President Clinton’s chances for re-election. Senator Bingaman shares his perspectives on the benefits of public broadcasting and funding for the arts and humanities.
