A construction worker sits at a desk with an open notebook and a calculator. He is likely part of the staff employed in rehabilitating the former All Saints Lutheran Church (built 1898) into the Jorge Hernandez Cultural Center. Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción, led by Jorge Hernandez, purchased the former church on West Newton Street in Boston's South End, and renovated it for use as a cultural center and performing arts venue for the city's Hispanic community. The Center opened in 1986 and was renamed the Jorge N. Hernandez Cultural Center in honor of Hernandez, whose funeral was the first event held in the newly refurbished space.
