Hal Rhodes interviews New Mexico's First Ladies Alice King, Clara Apodaca, and Elaine Anaya. Alice King, who served twice as First Lady of New Mexico 1971-1974 and 1979-1982 was recently inducted into the New Mexico Women’s Hall of Fame. The New Mexico Girls Ranch owes its existence to her efforts. First Lady Clara Apodaca, the wife of former Governor Jerry Apodaca, advocated for increasing the visibility of the arts in New Mexico. First Lady Elaine Anaya, the wife of former Governor Tony Anaya, also operated her own real estate business while she was the First Lady.
