Phil has had a pleasant day so far between receiving some mail and reading in the paper that Germany, Austria, and Turkey are looking for peace. He spent the whole morning whistling and isn't bothered by the guard duty he still has to do that evening. He finally has Harry's address and can write to him now. He talks a bit about the possibility of college, which he encourages Millard to consider. He comments that Art has been out of work for a while and was fortunate to sell his car without a loss.
