Phil tells Helen that he received 8 letters the previous day, and while he once found the task of replying to be tedious, now he finds it very enjoyable. He was surprised to hear that Aunt Annie had gone down to visit Art, but thinks it is a good thing and things have gone on long enough. One of the other soldiers received his "questionaire" and Phil comments on how thorough they are. The weather has been very nice, although he hears it has been severe back home.
