Phil received five letters the other day and has been busy answering them. He heard from Burt that he has made good progress in the engineering line, and comments that the state must have been "hard up for engineers when they put him on." Millard has been hatching chickens and Art sold his automobile. Phil is glad to hear that Harry was given a raise, and comments that he himself is getting good experience in carpentry for when he gets home, and if he doesn't get home then it doesn't matter much anyway.
