Former church sanctuary under renovation that will create a new cultural center.

Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción, led by Jorge Hernandez, purchased the former All Saints Lutheran Church (built 1898) on West Newton Street in Boston's South End, and renovated it into a cultural center and performing arts venue for the city's Hispanic community. The Center opened in 1986 and was renamed the Jorge N. Hernandez Cultural Center in honor of Hernandez, whose funeral was the first event held in the newly refurbished space. This picture shows the former sanctuary piled with boards and wooden planks.
