Saint Louis Cathedral named in honor of King Louis IX of France, is the largest and best example of Byzantine art and architecture in North America. Its mosaics are considered to be among the finest and also amongst the largest in the world. The Cathedral was begun by order of John Cardinal Glennon whose remains are buried beneath the Chapel of All Souls. Barnett, Hayes and Barnett, Architects.
