Palestine. "Blue bonnets o'er the border"

The first entry of British troops into Palestine in 1917. On the left the Herodian marble column marks the border between Palestine and Egypt. Beyond it, pipers and drummers art playing "Blue Bonnets o'er the Border," while on the right is the marching column of the 52nd Division, which for two years had been fighting its way across the Desert of Sinai.
