¡Colores!; From Darkness Into Light: The Making of the Holocaust Project

The Holocaust Project is an art exhibition that examines the Holocaust from two distinct and unique perspectives: first, from the feminist viewpoint of artist Judy Chicago and second, from its logical role in the history and development of western culture as we know it. Prior to this project, the Holocaust has been examined, explained, and expressed generally from a male perspective. Chicago and her photographer husband Donald Woodman have melded together their respective disciplines to create a form of art that is truly unique. The use of large photographic prints as a background upon which painted images create a way of relating to the works in a real and documentary way.
