River Where We Dream is a remarkable documentary that follows a group of Native American kids on their journey from the sacred mountains of their pueblo to the stage of the Santa Fe Opera. From the striking Tent Rocks landscape to the beautiful Rio Grande, this ¡COLORES! features children from the Cochiti Pueblo participating in the Santa Fe Opera's Pueblo Opera Program. In this program, children are introduced to the art of opera. In one month they conceive, write the words, music, design and sew their costumes, construct sets and perform in their very own beautiful new opera. Partial funding for this program was provided by Bridging to the Arts, a program of the New Mexico Public Education Department and the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs and New Mexico Arts, a division of the Office of Cultural Affairs and the National Endowments for the Arts.
