A girl in a short dress of red, white, and blue stands in the center of the plaza with a microphone. She appears to be singing. Along one edge of the plaza are several other young performers. One of them wears a flounced red dress with a sash that reads "[??]ina de nuestros origenes culturales" ("[queen?] of our cultural origins"). The others wear monster masks and brilliantly colored costumes. They might represent "vejigantes" the clown-like monster characters of Puerto Rican festival celebrations.
