Copperplate-printed textile fragment "The Dance" and "The Departure"

1790–1800

This rectangular fragment has a repeating red and white scene of a family departing a cottage and a group of young people dancing in a ring around a musician leaning against a tree. The scene is bordered by trees and foliage. The top edge of the fragment is hemmed, with the remains of a tape binding at the top corner.
