Literally translated, "Faire ses foins" means: to feather one's nest. This print shows the difference between town and country people. The city dweller may have bought the farm and the land that goes with it, but he will never understand the work done by a farmer. Being estranged from nature, he helplessly faces the threat of the scythe (revolution) and is no match for the powerful, healthy peasant (worker).
