These sketches and paintings by Helmut Hirsch provide a view into his imagination. At first glance, the images conjure the fantastical world of Jules Verne. In the pencil sketch, we see a figure in a deep diving suit defending himself against a sea monster. The other image is a painting of sea monsters or cephalopods interacting with each other. On the verso side, we see an incomplete sketch of a cephalopod holding onto coral.
